Il potenziale condrogenico delle staminali e ricostruzione dell’orecchio esterno

La ricostruzione dell’orecchio, specie nei traumi complessi o nelle malformazioni, rimane una sfida per i chirurghi plastici. L’ingegneria tissutale ha realizzato un’alternativa promettente: l’applicazione di cellule staminali derivate dal midollo osseo su una matrice modellata a orecchio esterno.

Dopo la sintesi in vitro di trachea, dotti lacrimali e bypass vascolari su stessa matrice, questo è il primo report riguardante l’applicazione di cellule staminali, coltivate in medium condrogenico, per la ricostruzione dell’orecchio.1
